By: Shriya Chinthak - SASE Secretary 2020-2021 NERC 2021 SASE NERC is the northeast regional conference and career fair, which began in 2017. This year, 33 northeast chapters will be able to attend the event virtually, and you can expect a jam-packed schedule of networking and workshop style events. Where is NERC held this year? SASE NERC will be hosting the event on the online platform, Socio. If you haven't already, please check your email for mail from both the SASE NERC and Rutgers SASE for information on how to sign up as well as the link to meet other members on Discord. What is the schedule like? This Saturday, February 27th, is the start of NERC with the conference portion of the event. The detailed schedule is down below as well as on the SASE NERC website. On March 6th, NERC will be hosting the second part of the event, the career fair. Personal Experience with NERC - Rakshaa Our very own co-community service/fundraising chair, Rakshaa Ravishankar, shared her first experience at SASE NERC. 1) When did you go to NERC for the first time? "The first time I went to NERC was freshman year, and it was so memorable for me. As a freshman, I was very new to college in general and NERC was a way for me to broaden my horizons in terms of networking, making friends, and getting out of my comfort zone." 2) Could you describe the SASE Fam and what your NERC experience in-person was like? "The SASE-fam was constantly encouraging me and keen on getting to know me, which made me very comfortable as a freshman. They also pushed me to attend different events at NERC and meet new people." 3) What were some of the standout moments from the event? "I enjoyed the women in STEM panel, the career fair, and a technical workshop held by CIA representatives." 4) Any advice for those who will be participating in the virtual career fair? "Practice behavioral interviews beforehand and be confident when interacting with recruiters! Make sure your interaction with them is memorable for them."
